We provide local housing, services and support programs that enable women, their families and other priority groups to find stability and feel safe and secure, so they can build the future they want.ABOUT THIS ROLEYWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Case Manager to join our Domestic and Family Violence Team in our Darwin office. This role is offered on an ongoing part time basis, 3 or 4 days per week, with fortnightly hours totalling 45.6.  Flexibility around days of work open for discussion, there will be a requirement for one day per week to be a 6pm finish.The role is responsible for the provision of case management for children and young people who have experienced domestic or family violence by:Providing risk assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, and holistic support under the YWCA Case Management, and Service Model and Practice Frameworks Develop and monitor individualised case plans for children and young peopleCollaborate with parents and caregivers to model and support positive parenting interactionsCoordinate referrals to a range of specialist and community-based children's service providersABOUT YOUThe ideal applicant will have:Certificate IV or Diploma Community Services/Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or other relevant tertiary qualifications (highly desirable)Experience in a similar role with children or young people who have experienced domestic or family violenceDemonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply current gendered theory and practice relating to domestic and family violence and its impact on women, children and family functioningDemonstrated knowledge of and ability in a trauma informed approach with children, young people and parents, and culturally sensitive practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people who are Culturally and Linguistically DiverseThis position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements.  This includes:Completion of a national criminal history checkA valid relevant state-based working with children permit.Don’t meet every single requirement? ABOUT THIS ROLE

The role is responsible for the provision of case management for children and young people who have experienced domestic or family violence by:

  • Providing risk assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, and holistic support under the YWCA Case Management, and Service Model and Practice Frameworks 
  • Develop and monitor individualised case plans for children and young people
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to model and support positive parenting interactions
  • Coordinate referrals to a range of specialist and community-based children's service providers

ABOUT YOU

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma Community Services/Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or other relevant tertiary qualifications (highly desirable)
  • Experience in a similar role with children or young people who have experienced domestic or family violence
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply current gendered theory and practice relating to domestic and family violence and its impact on women, children and family functioning
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability in a trauma informed approach with children, young people and parents, and culturally sensitive practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people who are Culturally and Linguistically Diverse

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements.  This includes:

  • A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.
