Providing young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness with safe accommodation and other supports in the Greater Darwin region.

YWCA Australia’s CASY House is Darwin’s only youth crisis accommodation for young people aged 15-18 experiencing homelessness. We have a maximum capacity of 8 young People who can reside at CASY House.

While residing at CASY House, our team support clients to learn the necessary life skills – things like budgeting, cooking, cleaning and advocating for themselves – to establish their independence and confidence for the future.

We support them to find appropriate, stable longer-term accommodation, whatever that may be.

What support does CASY House provide?

  • A room with a shared/ensuite bathroom
  • Access to communal areas, including a shared kitchen, laundry, living and dining area
  • Access to onsite Case Manager to assist with referrals to different support networks identified by the young person.
  • Advocacy and assistance with navigating and collaborating with other services

Having a safe, secure and affordable residence at CASY House has made the experience of having to deal with finding accommodation as well as prioritising my responsibilities at school and work so much easier. It has lifted a lot of stress and depression that comes from being homeless and has encouraged me to stay driven and motivated to accomplish great things.

Who can we help?

Young people, aged 15-18, who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness in the Darwin region. CASY House is accepting of all young people – regardless of gender.

How to refer myself or someone else?

We take self-referrals as well as referrals from other service providers. Our team are available 24/7 for crisis referrals or for non-urgent questions from 7-6 Monday to Friday. You can reach our team by calling 0418 481 119 or emailing us at nt-casy@ywca.org.au.
